Y’all the world race has not been good for my body. Due to a million different factors like limited food, time restrictions on being outside of hosts homes and just adapting to different cultures, it has been a challenge to maintain rhythms of health that I frequented at home.

Despite our efforts, most people on my squad that lived averagely healthy life styles at home as far as food and excercize, have gained some weight on the race. More importantly than that, a lot of us have just struggled with feeling unhealthy. It’s hard to maintain a pattern of eating when you move around so much. It’s kind of like when you go on a roadtrip and then feel like crap because you’ve been eating McDonald’s and Chick-fil-A for 3 days. Fun for a day but not for a life.

Being in Romania after being in Central America for so long has been a little bit of a breath of fresh air in the food department.

Green Salads.

Meat that isn’t questionable.

Cheese that doesn’t taste like chalk.

Hallelujah.

Not to mention the fact that it is a safe country and there are a million parks to go on runs in. FREEDOM!

I’m sitting here, eating a carton of raspberries and reminiscing on Guatemala and the tiendas that were on every corner, filled with only packaged and processed goods.

You can taste when something is real. Food created by people and not by God really just doesn’t fuel you in the same way, go figure.

The people in Guatemala literally had stunted growth because of the lack of nutrition. I stare out the window now, into the city streets of Craiova and I see mostly healthy people. What you put in your body is significant. What you consume literally changes who you are.

It’s so obvious that what we physically put in our bodies has an impact. Do you think that what we put in our minds has just as much of an impact as what we physically consume?

I do. More importantly, God invented the concept. “Do not copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think.  Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.” -Romans 12:2 

“Whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable – if anything is excellent or praiseworthy -think about such things.-Philippians 4:8

We are literally instructed to focus our minds on the things of Heaven.  If we focused our thoughts on those things all the time, how would it change the way we live our lives?

It’s crazy because I don’t know who reads these blogs. On average I have about 50 readers, although some blogs I have had over 400 readers. Who are you people? I have no idea lol.

What I do know is that I’ve spent my time in Craiova walking up to random people on the streets and telling them about Jesus, when I get the opportunity even inviting them to know Him.

I’d be stupid if I didn’t use this opportunity to extend the same invitation to YOU. It’s no coincidence that you’re reading this. I’ve prayed over the readers of this blog. You.

I said that you can taste when something is real. Gods love for you is the most real thing I know. Taste and see. “Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in him.” -Psalm 34:8

If you never have, or even if you do it every single day, I dare you to open up the bible. Start in the book of John if you don’t know where. Read it as a love letter from God to you, it is. There is nothing more real or true. Let it change the way you think, the way you live, and what you live for. Living with God and for God is literally what you were created for. Let me know how it goes.
