God is always after the heart of the one.
God has truly been teaching me that He has a heart for the one. If it takes sending 14 people across the world to love the one He’s going to send them. If it takes sending someone across the world to be loved by a random family that they are put in the space of, He’s going to do it.
Following the will of the Lord is all we should be striving for, regardless of if it makes sense to us.
Due to the way it looks to the community here, we have been quarantining and not leaving the church for a good chunk of time. Soon we will be able to get out and do ministry with the police, people on the street, and children of the community, but not yet. Sometimes it’s easy to question at any point in your life, what is the point of this?
God knew before the beginning of time, before this year, before covid, that 14 Americans would spend almost two weeks stuck inside a church doing construction work in Guatemala. The family we are staying with has been going through a lot recently, the fact that we are here to pray with them and be with them was so planned and so intentional. I’ve learned so much from them already.
Today our host wife Evleyn, told us we are like family to her. God intended all along for us all to be in this same space together. I’m beyond grateful to be in the same space and live with and learn from them.
If when God had asked me to come to this city, He had told me that the only reason I was coming here was to make His heart more known to only one person, would I have come? Yes, God has a heart for the one and that’s the heart for people I want to have.
In my own life, God used an army of people to make His truth known to me and I am forever grateful. If you live your whole life sharing the Truth of the Lord and God only ever uses you to point one heart towards Him, would it be worth it? I believe so.
Lord, teach me to have eyes for people like You do.
Teach me to love people like You do in the space that You’ve placed me in.
Impress upon me that anything I do for You is something You’ve given me the grace to participate in.
Allow me to have a heart for the one like You’ve had for me.
Amen.
your posts give me chills! I love what you said about God having a heart for even just the one and that sometimes that looks a lot different than how we might envision our “purpse” (ie. having to quarantine). I also loved your last post about how what you are experiencing there is just different, but not bad. Who are we to judge? Proud of you & love your heart. Keep goin Court!
Thanks for the encouragement, Olivia! He is truly teaching me so much!
